Portfolio Update: July 30th, 2008
July 30, 2008 – 5:03 pmI sold my complete position of Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNI) about 4 minutes before the close, near the peak of today’s rally. Burlington was up nearly 10% since Monday’s close and consequently I pocketed about 14%, making the sale at $105.30. I purchased Burlington in March at $92.21 and plan to jump in again in the future. Burlington met second quarter earnings estimates despite the problems surrounding floods in the Midwest. Along with their strong second quarter results, Burlington increased its dividend from $0.32 per share to $0.40 per share last Thursday.
